FORA is pleased to invite you to a talk and slide show by Martin WHITFIELD, Volunteer Development Officer of Open Spaces – Epping Forest (City of London), Forest Keeper Ian GREER, and Ashley PINNOCK and Claire DUNCOMBE of the Epping Forest Centenary Trust.

The presentation will include:
§ An overview of the history and significance of Epping Forest
§ The background to the conservation work proposed for
§ Opportunities for group volunteer work
This is the largest public open space in the London area, stretching 12 miles from Manor Park in East London to just north of Epping in Essex, and adjoins the FORA area in the south at Whipps Cross Road, James Lane and Forest Glade.
The forest is of national and international conservation importance: two thirds of it is wooded, and the same proportion is designated both a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation. It is also home to a wealth of wildlife.
