On Saturday 19th July 2008, the Local Roots project will be hosting a film and discussion evening at the Hornbeam Centre, 458 Hoe Street E17 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
The Local Roots project was started to encourage people in Waltham Forest to take part in urban food growing, linking growers and ground together through a 'patch match' scheme.
Local Roots also aims to train food gardeners, and to provide seed and basic tools and equipment to budding urban farmers, and support them through a network.
The film being screened on 19th July is 'The Power of Community' and refreshments will be offered free of charge.
