Autumn Litter Pick a success
Fifteen FORA members and friends took part in the annual Autumn Litter Pick on Saturday 6 October.They managed to pick up 50 bags of rubbish in two hours from the Forest Glade and adjacent areas of Epping Forest .
Apart from the usual suspects -- cans , bottles , polystyrene food containers etc -- some notable finds were masses of direct marketing mail, a satellite dish , a laptop , a clothes rack , linoleum , stacks of old tyres and more .... !
A short report about the findings will be sent to the Corporation of London and the relevant local authorities for further action and follow up.
The Corporation of London again kindly provided the pickers, rubbish bags and collection service, as they have in the past.
FORA members Linda Boot, Sandra McPhee and Tony Fernandes organised and gathered local support for the event.
Special thanks for the hospitality of fellow participants and FORA members, Paolo, Lucia and family , who invited everyone around for a cup of tea and a neighbourly chat.
