Forest Glade Spring Clean 2008
FORA stalwarts Linda Boot and Sandra McPhee once again spearheaded a successful litter pick from the Forest Glade and heavily trafficked James Lane areas.
Some ten members attended, though this time around only about twenty-five bags of garbage were picked up, a sure sign that these efforts are bearing fruit, with the area now consistently looking much tidier. This thanks in part to Linda, Sandra and others who have been known to periodically fill up a few sacks when they can. Many passers by expressed their thanks for our efforts and asked to be advised about the next event as also FORA’s other activities.
Also on hand were Brian Gotts, a Forest Keeper with the Open Spaces Department of The Corporation of London, Epping Forest who as always kindly supplied us with pickers, high visibility vests etc and Martin Whitfield, Volunteer Development Officer also with Open Spaces –Epping Forest.
Martin also has some great ideas to involve more volunteers interested in conservation projects etc, some of which we hope to work together on in the very near future. We shall as always endeavour to keep you posted.
Our thanks to all who turned out as also to FORA members Paolo , Lucia and family who once again most graciously invited us around for a very welcome cup of tea .
