A second AGM for FORA
Fora’s second Annual General Meeting, held on Wednesday, June 4,2008 at St Andrew’s church hall, was well attended by members. They were joined by Forest Ward councillor Farooq Qureshi, and Sergeant Simon Robson and PC Stuart Beart of our Police Safer Neighbourhood Team.
The Chair, Peter Leighton, gave a review of activities during the past year, and said the organisation’s second year of existence had been one of consolidation.
He announced that the Committee had decided on a modest expansion of the area covered by Fora after a consultation of members. A drive to recruit more members is planned.
An amendment to the Constitution dealing with subscriptions, to make them fairer for new members joining at different times of the year, was passed unanimously.
The meeting also chose a new Committee for the coming year of 12 people.
Afterwards, members moved into the church itself to enjoy a performance by a local musician, Nick Pickett, playing a guitar and harmonica. Nick does work in music therapy at
