FORA Inaugural Picnic in the Glade Sat.August 16th 2008

Some thirty adults and children turned up under a brilliantly sunny skied day, for a community "pack-share picnic " afternoon of fun and relaxation.

A big" shout out " to our rock solid FORA delivery Team , FORA anchor members and supporters such as the Gordon's , Gourleys , Marvins , Ramella's etc who turned out and also brought/supplied much of the goodies, equipment and people power to pull this off .

 

The diverse group included some FORA members , non members , people who had heard about it via the flyer in St Andrew's etc

 

Friendships were forged and renewed, babies displayed with pride, social networking abounded in an atmosphere of genuine neighbourly spirit.

 

Enthusiastic endorsement came especially from the children with whom the games etc went down well, not to mention the glut of blue berries weighing down the bushes and the streaked faces of some of the younger participants :)

 

It was also an opportunity for participants to see at first hand, some of the work done hitherto by local volunteers and other groups working with the Epping Forest Conservation Trust .

 

All in all it was clear that a good time was had by all and come Summer 09 we will be back , bigger and better with your help.
