A well earned "cuppa" and some welcome "tools down" time

FORA Stalwarts : The indomitable Marvins on the attack.

Following on from a FORA Talk Seriesn initiative and an EFCT slide show prsentation on July 23rd in St.Andrew's Church's Community Hall , many local residents along with their families , scout troops  etc  turned out  for this leg of the project , which spanned a five day session . Future dates will be announced in due course .

Led by EFCT members Claire Dunscombe and Ashley Pinnock , participants were carefully instructed and initiated in the art of using loppers and bow saws to trim back some of the undergrowth. This afforded them an insight into the field of woodland management , carefully striking as close a balance as feasible between the needs of various forest users , eco-diversity and wild life habitats such as that of foxes, birds , butterflies, bees etc.

EFCT Director , historian and Epping Forest Verderer , Richard S. Morris ,OBE gave a small impromptu talk and displayed pictures of some of the 19th century watercolours of Forest Glade and it's Epping Forest environs back in the day .

Plans are afoot for him to deliver a slide show presentation and talk on local history in and around the St Andrew's Church area  , the verderer's legacy , the provenance of the water colours and the Royal connection etc to which he has most graciously agreed to in principle.
