11 Oct 2007 - FORA puts in entry for Design Award

On behalf of members, the FORA Chair, Peter Leighton, has submitted an entry for a Waltham Forest Design Award 2007.

It is for the new Leytonstone School wall and railings, facing Forest
Road in the Leytonstone Conservation Area. The nomination is in the Best Environmental Improvement category.

The Design Award scheme is run by Waltham Forest Borough Council in partnership with local Guardian, Gazette and Independent newspapers. It was introduced in 1990 to stimulate interest in architecture and urban design within the Borough.

Entries had to be in by October 5. The date of the Awards presentation ceremony has yet to be announced.
The entry portfolio was compiled by FORA members,Sandra McPhee and Trevor Hurst, a professional photographer.
